Sharing experiences and knowledge is at the heart of every WordCamp: some attend for the first time wanting to get closer to WordPress, while others are longtime users looking to deepen their understanding or discover new secrets.

WordCamps are open events for anyone who wants to participate: designers, bloggers, developers, marketers, copywriters, and, in general, passionate and curious people.

WordCamps are inclusive and accessible events. We are therefore happy to welcome speakers of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels.

You don’t need to be a professional speaker—just be knowledgeable about your topic and willing to share what you know. It is precisely this spirit of sharing that supports WordPress and its community.

If this is your first time speaking or you would like feedback on your talk, we also offer a great mentoring service to help you refine your presentation!

Have you used WordPress for a personal project? Would you like to share your solutions to an unusual problem, or tell us how your passion for WordPress began?

Great! Your experiences could inspire the WordCamp audience and help grow our wonderful community.

What topics can I talk about?

You are free to choose any topic you are passionate about and want to talk about. However, keep in mind that a WordCamp is an event dedicated to WordPress and its community, so staying within this scope could increase the chances of your talk being selected.

Talk Formats

We want to create an event that’s full but also leaves time to socialize, visit our sponsors, and move between presentations without rushing.

For this reason, we have three formats:

  • Traditional Talk
Each speaker has 30 minutes total, which can be used entirely for a longer presentation or for a shorter talk that leaves time for audience questions at the end.
  • Lightning Talk
A 10-minute talk: straight-to-the-point presentations, quick knowledge bites on practical topics, technical tips, or your WordPress best tricks.
A short format that allows up to 3 speakers within half an hour.
  • Panel
A roundtable with a moderator and several speakers discussing a specific WordPress-related topic, where the audience plays an active role in the discussion!
    Duration: 30 minutes.

Who can apply to speak?

In short: anyone who uses WordPress, at any level, including those speaking at an event for the first time. Yes, we can!

WordCamp Pisa 2025 reflects the values of the WordPress Community: we encourage participation from those who have never been on stage or who don’t have many opportunities to do so.

The only requirements are passion and practical knowledge of the topic you want to speak about.

If the idea of speaking at WordCamp Pisa excites you, we will help you make it happen! We also offer a Mentoring program to assist those with little speaking experience in preparing their presentation.

Timeline and Deadlines

Other Things to Remember

  • We welcome speakers of all ages and backgrounds: WordCamps are inclusive and accessible events.
  • You don’t need to be a professional speaker, but we expect you to be knowledgeable about the topic you will present.
  • Your presentation should not be a way to promote your product or service. If your session explains how you used WordPress to build something of collective interest and you want to present a case study, that’s perfectly fine—but sales messages are not allowed (including slides with photos of books or courses and links for purchase or discount coupons).
  • If your proposal is accepted, the texts you provide in the Bio, Session Title, and Session Description fields will be used on the website: please fill them out carefully. We reserve the right to edit them for consistency with other content.
  • Remember to capitalize the “P” in WordPress and respect WordPress copyright.
  • If you want to apply with multiple proposals, please fill out the form for each individual talk.
  • Slides must be submitted by Friday, November 7.
  • No payment or reimbursement is provided to speakers: WordCamps are based on voluntary contributions from everyone involved.
  • Please only accept these rules if you have truly read them.
