{"id":3409,"date":"2025-11-08T00:05:17","date_gmt":"2025-11-07T23:05:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pisa.wordcamp.org\/2025\/?page_id=3409"},"modified":"2025-11-21T08:46:34","modified_gmt":"2025-11-21T07:46:34","slug":"contributor-day","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/pisa.wordcamp.org\/2025\/en\/contributor-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Contributor Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WordCamp Pisa 2025 consists of two days:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On Friday, there is the Contributor Day, where you can actively engage with the WordPress Community.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On Saturday, the conference takes place, and you can attend many interesting talks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is Contributor Day?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a day dedicated to all those who want to actively contribute to the open-source WordPress.org project, even if they have no prior experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are already familiar with the process, you can share your knowledge with first-time attendees or continue working on activities planned in the days leading up to WordCamp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like all open-source projects, WordPress is continuously updated and improved by people worldwide who dedicate some of their time to it. This is a fundamental part of the success of our favourite CMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have never contributed to an open-source project before, Contributor Day is an excellent opportunity to try, connect with the vibrant Italian WordPress Community, and start making a real contribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Experienced members of the Community will help you settle in and guide you through the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Be ready to work side by side with people from Italy and abroad\u2014it will be an unforgettable day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>When and Where<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Contributor Day will take place on <strong>Friday, 21st November 2025<\/strong>, at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Pisa, on the second floor of Building C in the Fibonacci complex, Via Filippo Buonarroti, 3, 56127 Pisa PI (<a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/tdcugq7FaCUJsCN8A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google map<\/a>). Registration opens at <strong>9:00 AM<\/strong>, and the day\u2019s activities will conclude around <strong>5:00 PM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Lunch<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No need to worry about coffee and lunch\u2014we\u2019ve got it covered!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to Register for Contributor Day<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To participate, you must purchase a WordCamp ticket and, during the purchase process, indicate that you intend to join the Friday Contributor Day. In that case, you will receive an email to redeem your free ticket. <strong>Unfortunately, the available seats at the Contributor Day tables are limited<\/strong>; if the dedicated section does not appear during the purchase process, it means that all spots have already been taken.<br>Please note: <strong>it is not possible to take part in the Contributor Day without the specific ticket. Having a conference ticket and having indicated your intention to attend the CD will not be enough.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have registered for Contributor Day but can no longer attend, please inform us so that we can offer your spot to someone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Limited Availability<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just to highlight this again\u2014places are limited, and participation must be selected when purchasing your WordCamp ticket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who Can Join?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone! From beginners to experienced professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Workgroups<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can sit at any workgroup table and switch during the day. Our approach is relaxed and inclusive, so don\u2019t worry!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not sure if there\u2019s a group for you? Here are some examples of contributions you might not have considered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Testing beta versions before new releases<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organising events like Meetups and WordCamps<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reading and\/or editing documentation to make it clearer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Writing marketing copy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Translating documentation, themes, plugins, and WordPress itself<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Uploading suitable photos to the WordPress directory<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2026 and much more!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Pisa Contributor Day, you will find some of the key workgroups, but you can also ask how to connect with other teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a
